The suspect, described a black or Hispanic male, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

A masked man robbed the Walgreens store early Monday morning and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Joliet police said.

The man, described as being either black or Hispanic and wearing blue jeans and light colored shirt, told the clerk to hand over the money in her register, Lt. Brian Dupuis said. No threats were made the woman or to the other customers in the store, who were not robbed, he said.

He fled on foot toward the west, witnesses said.

Investigators hope to have photos of the alleged bandit, obtained from the 358 E. Cass St. store, available Tuesday, Dupuis said.

In the meantime, the department is asking for the public's help in finding the suspect. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked call the investigation unit at 815-724-3020 or Crime Stoppers at 815-740-2200.
