A giant bottle of Moet Champagne was cracked open ceremoniously with a
special light saber by Union League Club of Chicago Executive Chef Michael
Garbin to herald the opening of Passport to France 2017 and the arrival of
Georges Du Boeuf Beaujolais Nouveau. Just in time for the start of the
Holiday Season, the wine represents the newly pressed and fermented wine
for 2017, the perfect companion for Thanksgiving Turkey and the Christmas
Feast along the various savories and sweets that go along with the celebrations.
Passport to France is the French American Chamber of Commerce of Chicago's
largest annual fundraiser and a celebration of all things French; food,
wine, gastronomy and culture. Featured at the event were various pastries
and savory treats from Le Chef Patisserie, The French Pastry School, Vanille Chocolates, and, of course, Georges Du Boeuf wines, to create a world class events. More than a thousand Francophiles, joined a collaboration of 40 chefs, wine and spirits producers to create the city's largest single event to celebrate French cuisine and culture in the area.
