Slammers, greater Joliet area YMCA partner for free fitness classes

The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy is

teaming up with the Greater Joliet Area YMCA this summer to host free

fitness classes for the community at Joliet Route 66 Stadium.

Beginning on June 4 and running through August 12, Zumba classes will be

held at the stadium every Monday morning from 9-10 a.m. Gates will open to

the public at 8:30 a.m. Classes are free and open to the community.

“With the addition of turf, we are looking forward to being able to host

more events like this that are open to the community,” Joliet Slammers

General Manager Heather Mills said. “This is just the first new event of

many, with the new opportunities the turf brings.”

As one of the nation’s leading nonprofit charities, the YMCA is committed

to strengthening local communities through youth development, healthy

living and social responsibility. Through its financial assistance and

scholarship program, the Greater Joliet Area YMCA works to fulfill its

mission of ensuring that its programs are available to everyone and no one

is turned away due to the inability to pay.
