The Joliet Central girls varsity soccer team won the home conference game on May 8 against Romeoville with a score of 2-1. Goals were scored by junior Mamechie Anaman with an assist from Denise Arredondo and by junior Denise Arredondo.
Coach Stephanie Phillips said, “This game was an important and special game for this team. Not only was it the last conference game of the season, but it was our Senior Night. It was one of the last few games that our 12 seniors will play together as a team. They have dedicated four years of hard work and dedication to the Central Girls Soccer program. Our seniors will truly be missed on this team and in the program. Ending the season with a win was a perfect way to honor our seniors and start on positive path to Regionals.”
Their next competition will be the IHSA Regional Semi-finals hosted at the Joliet Central Stadium on May 16th against Bradley-Bourbonnais High School at 5:00pm and Minooka v. East Moline United at 7:00pm.
