AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet recently launched a multimillion fundraising initiative in its effort to improve cardiovascular care for Joliet and the surrounding community.
In launching the Heart Hospital within a Hospital Campaign, the medical center's foundation and leadership recognize the need for improvements to the facility's existing center of cardiovascular excellence, including a new hybrid cardiac catheterization lab.
"Heart disease doesn't discriminate. And it's on the rise," said Herb Buchanan, president, AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center at the launch announcement. "For nearly 30 years, AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center has been the heart of cardiac care for Will County residents, pioneering a range of leading-edge, comprehensive cardiovascular services in our community."
At the event, held Tuesday, Oct. 8, Buchanan unveiled plans for the planned multimillion dollar cardiovascular services expansion and announced the Heart Hospital within a Hospital Campaign to help make the plans a reality.
In addition to the kickoff event, the medical center's 26th Annual Secret Garden Gala, held on Nov. 2, was also in support of the Heart Hospital within a Hospital Campaign. The gala, held at the Joliet Junior College Event Center was co-chaired by Mary and Paul Jaworski and Nick D'Arcy.
