With one councilman dissenting, the Joliet city council at a recent meeting approved a set of increases to the city’s water and sewer rates for 2019, 2020 and 2021. Customers will see increased rates of 6% in 2019, 6.2% in 2020 and 6.4% in 2021. For 2019, the average Joliet customer will pay $71 per month, according to council documents. The 2019 average bill for patrons of surrounding communities amounts to $87 per month.
